10 minute rant
Or rather, a rant about 10 minutes. If you’ve read my blog posts, you know that I am obsessed, er interested, in fitness. I love to keep up with the latest trends. Well the latest fitness trend is for short workouts. Short, as in 10 minutes. I’m all for 10 minute breaks throughout the day. We all spend too much time sitting and we all could benefit with moving about more.

But, the trend I’m seeing is that these 10 minute workouts are the be-all and end-all. I’m sorry, there is just no way you can get fit in 10 minutes a day. On my crankier days, I see this as part of our culture of “wanting it now” and “wanting it to be easy.” If only there was a magic pill to make us fit. If you listen to some of the 10 minute workout claims, you would think that these fit the bill.

If you want to be fit and healthy, you HAVE to make it a priority in your life. I’ve read that most people spend 3 hours watching tv in the evenings. Although these days, it may be more like 6 hours in front of the computer. What if you took just one of those hours and decided to get up and move! Mmm, something to think about.

Okay rant over, back to sitting at my computer.
