I have a new love. My dear husband doesn’t have to worry though, because it’s a store. I’m currently in love with Whole Foods. I still love Trader Joe’s, since they do tend to be cheaper. But, Whole Foods is a nicer store. Let’s be honest, Trader Joe’s has a funny smell. It’s not that it’s unclean, it’s just a weird smell. Plus, I’m tired of finding a product that I love, only to learn that it’s been discontinued.
As a cheap frugal person, I love a bargain, And, believe it or not, there are bargains to be found at Whole Foods! Agave syrup and chia seeds are two recent examples. You are probably shaking your head and wondering what the heck is agave syrup? Agave syrup is from the agave plant, a cactus-like plant that grows in Mexico. It has a low glycemic index, meaning it doesn’t spike your blood sugar. You are also probably saying, are chia seeds those things that are advertised on late night tv, for growing funny looking grass pets? Chia seeds are very rich in Omega-3 fats as well as antioxidants. They have more antioxidants than blueberries! Suffice it to say these food items are very healthy.
You may have noticed that the picture is one of M & M’s, which are my favorite food. And, no, M & M’s aren’t sold at either Trader Joes’ or Whole Foods. As much as I love the healthy stuff, I’ve never met an M & M I didn’t like. 🙂
I love to find joy in the simplest things, whether it’s something to feed my soul or my body.

I also enjoy shopping at Whole Foods. It’s a very different store than Trader Joe’s with a much more comprehensive selection. I agree with your comment about falling in love with an item at Trader Joe’s only to find it discontinued a few months later. It happens all the time. Thanks for a great article and for not replacing me (your husband) with a food store! 🙂

Hi Ken,
I am laughing as I read your comment about shopping at Whole Foods. I think you are still on the quest for the perfect donut. I don’t know how to tell you that neither Whole Foods or Trader Joes carries donuts. 🙂

Hey Ginny,
As you can probably tell, donuts are Mr. Ken’s favorite food! And I’ve been known to indulge in donuts too, chia seeds or not 🙂
Can’t wait to see you!
