It is that time of year again, when we bring up our kayaks. I look forward to this all winter. We store our kayaks in the basement and have to bring them up through the bulkhead. The bulkhead is at a very awkward angle, so it is always a challenge to bring them up without dropping them.
Here they are! All ready to go. For those of you new to my blog, there are 4 kayaks here. There are two of us. Two of the kayaks are our “river” ones, we use these in the Charles River. The river can be rocky, so we don’t want to scrape the bottoms. That is why these are our less expensive kayaks. The other two kayaks are our open water kayaks and we use these when we go kayaking up in Whitehall.
In case you are interested, we name our kayaks. From left to right they are: Bluebird, Goldfinch, Little Red and Bumblebee. Bumblebee is the one hanging. Bluebird and Bumblebee are our “good” kayaks. π
Now, if the weather could just cooperate and stop raining!

Two weeks ago a friend told me ‘hasn’t it been a good spring?” I shhhhh’d her, but it was too late. She jinxed it for us all here in the Boston area, and the cold dreary wet days have been quite difficult for birds, kayaks, and humans.
Hope you get out there soon! On Saturday, the one “good” day, there were a lot of kayaks on the Concord River.
