You may have noticed that there are a lot of posts about kayaking these days. This is the summer of kayaking. I would rather be kayaking than doing anything else. We have had some glorious days and it has been heaven to be out on the water.
Thought you would enjoy the views from the kayak, so here goes. . .
1. Our favorite kayak place.
This lovely spot is only about 20 miles away from where we live and we get there by going on a pretty, scenic country road. When we are out on the water, it is as though you are in the middle of New Hampshire or Vermont, you don’t see a house anywhere. You may notice that this is a picture taken in the fall; I didn’t have a recent picture, but this one gives you an idea of the place.
2. The scary swans.
Swans can be pretty and they can be cranky. It is best not to get too close to them. It’s fun to watch them with their baby swans though.
3. The turtles.
We always count how many turtles we see. I think our record was something like 130! They love to bask in the sun.
4. The swamp azaleas.
This fragrant flower always reminds me of summer. It has such a sweet smell and the lake where we kayak is filled with this flower.
5. Dairy Queen Blizzard.
Okay, so we don’t see a Dairy Queen from our kayaks, but this is usually the first thing we talk about when we get out on the water. We “need” to decide what flavor Bizzard we will be getting. Did you know that they always serve the Blizzard upside down or it is free. So far this summer, our “go to” flavor has been s’mores. Yum!
So what is the view from your favorite spot?

Hi Mustard Seed Budget,
When I’m not in a kayak, I spend my time wishing I was in a kayak. π
Hope your summer is going well.

View from which favorite spot?? The great thing about kayaking is that the view is always changing! And can be anything from urban to isolated. Can be stormy, sunny, rainy, hot, cold – and here in New England, all of those in one week! Mostly I enjoy the wildlife.

Hello to a fellow kayaker!
I agree about the view – the same place can look so different, depending upon the weather and the season. Each paddle brings a new experience.
Hope you are having a good summer kayaking!
