Montpelier VT – Food Scene

No, this isn’t a post about the Montpelier restaurants, although they were good too. When we go away, we love staying at Airbnbs since we have our own kitchen. We eat breakfast at the place. We then go out exploring for the day, stopping to have a nice lunch out somewhere. By evening, we are tuckered out and just love to have a simple dinner at our place.

We have become quite the coffee snobs and just love our pod coffee brewed by Keurig. This pretty red brewer is one we bought and we bring it with us whenever we are traveling. Note the pretty mug; it was created by our host, who is a potter.

Mr. Ken and I have started a new tradition – finding yummy crumble cake where ever we go. Montpelier was no different. And, I must admit, the crumble cake doesn’t last the full week; we just may have had to buy a second one to finish out the week. After all, the calories you eat on vacation don’t count, right. 🙂

Well, it wasn’t all about sweets. There was this cool food store, called the Hunger Mountain Coop, only a block from where we were staying. This of an entire store devoted to organic food! I just had to try the Bulgarian yogurt. I guess what makes this yogurt so special is that is has literally billions of probiotics. It is quite tangy. Yummy.

Vermont is also known for its maple syrup. We stopped at this cool farm right outside of Montpelier and just had to buy some maple syrup.

I may have mentioned that the place we stayed was right above a potters studio. He was the host for us. All the mugs and plates in our place were made by him. So of course for our souvenirs, we bought two coffee mugs and a cute little dish. We can think of our fun trip to Montpelier whenever we use them.
