I live in New England. We get snow in the winter. But to hear the media talk about this latest snow, you would think it was an unusual as Southern California getting snow. Tuesday morning, I had a doctor’s appointment. Given the state of medical care these days, the appointment was made several months ago. I didn’t want to cancel it. So in listening to the weather forecast for “snowmageddon” I decided to walk to the appointment.
The roads were totally clear and the traffic was nonexistent. I guess everyone got scared of the snow and stayed home. 🙂 There was only a couple of inches of snow on the ground, so walking wasn’t too bad. I enjoyed it. I had forgotten how much fun it was to be out in the snow. The whole world is quiet and it’s just you and the snowflakes.
As I was walking along, a poignant memory came back to me. Many years ago, when I was working just outside of Boston and it snowed, I didn’t want to drive, so I was fortunate that I could take the commuter rail to work. My Dad loved to drive and he especially loved to drive in the snow. So I would ask him to drive me to the train station. Here he would come in his big maroon Oldsmobile.
How do you feel about snow?

I like snow but in moderation! I do not mind driving in it but do not like doing so when it re-freezes! Hope the doctor visit went well and that you folks stay warm!

Hi Colin,
Thanks for your comment. We have been spoiled this winter by our unusually warm temperatures. Hah, when it turns cold enough to snow it is now big news. 🙂

Originally I’m from NJ (where I was born during a blizzardly day.) Having lived in Southern California for a few decades, I can experience the snow in our national park (1 hr away.) I don’t miss the driving commute or shoveling during those east coast storms. Have a wonderful day, Nancy.
