I love the Christmas season. The lights and decorations are so pretty. I especially love putting up our Christmas tree. All of our ornaments have a story behind them. The Ken and Nancy snowmen were bought in Weston, Vermont, during one of our many trips to Vermont. The Santa in a kayak,on the upper left, behind the snowmen, was bought by Mr. Ken from a kayaking website. The pretty crystal dove on the lower rights was my gift to Ken for our first Christmas together.
I just love how the little Christmas tree lights make everything shine.
What Christmas memories do you have?
All of us here at the Loderick household wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Nancy, thank you for sharing Christmas memories. Those treasured family ornaments remind me of how our mother would have my brother and two sisters participate in decorating our tree. When it was done it was a work of art because my mother was an artist. Sadly, she died three days before Christmas in 1992 from a massive heart attack. She was only 57. Our mother taught us to live out every day what Dickens described in “A Christmas Carol” as the spirit of Christmas. We all can do that by shining the light of our love to others. We can reach out to others who need to feel loved and valued. In that way we keep the heart message of Christmas alive.
Our mother taught us to keep a child-like wonder about life alive in our hearts. While life challenges we all have may dim it for a while, it tugs at our hearts to come alive.
During the holiday season let us all take time to set work aside and do some of the fun things when we were children, such as making angels in the snow. It’s much easier to do than jumping on a trampoline. My step-brother did that when he was in his mid forties. He was aching all over for weeks. While we may not be able to do all the physical things we did as children, we can keep the message of Christmas glowing 365 days a year. If we did that, I have no doubt Charles Dickens would smile.

You’re welcome. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Yes, Christmas still is hard, but having the love of my wife, Karen, and our 20-year-old kitty, Her Royal Furriness, Princess Katherine, helps a lot to inject some happiness into the Christmas season.
