September and October are glorious times here in New England. The brightly colored foliage never disappoints.
November, not so much. All the leaves are off the trees and it is usually cold and grey, with not much sunshine. This year we were lucky to have several sunny days. Mr. Ken and I decided to take advantage of the sunshine and go for a hike at one of our favorite places. This is also where we kayak in the warm weather.
Here you can see the sun shining through the trees and reflecting on the water.
No two hikes are ever the same; there is always something new and interesting to see. This time we saw the effects of two busy beavers!
What interesting things have you seen on your hikes?

I like hiking in Nov/Dec because the trees look so different without their leaves, and I can see lake views from the trail in places that are completely green in the summer. It really helps get my bearings if I’m on a new trail. And you can see birds so much better, too. I saw a pileated woodpecker on my last hike!

Hey Bea,
In all our years of going to this lake, we have never actually seen any beavers. We have seen their huts, but no sign of them.

I would love to travel to New England some day. Haven’t explored the East coast yet.
