Actually, I don’t do resolutions any more since they don’t work for me. I used to start of all gung-ho with my list of New Year’s resolutions. By January 3, they were forgotten. So, I’ve been doing something different. Every year I pick a theme for that year. The plan is for my actions to revolve around that theme.
This year my theme is gratitude. 2020 was an awful year, we all faced losses, whether it was loss of loved ones, a job or freedom.
2021 is going to be another tough year. We can’t change that, but what we can change is our attitude. This year, I choose to be grateful for all that I have.
I am grateful for:
- My health and the health of my family.
- My stable housing.
- Enough food. Every day, the newspaper has sad stories about people going hungry, right in our neighborhoods!
- My ability to help others.
Every day, the first thing I will do when I wake up is think of one thing I am grateful for.
What about you? How will you make 2021 different?

Hi Nancy!
I love how you approach the new year…And what a theme! It’s so easy to overlook gratitude and fail to count all of our blessings. I’ll certainly be joining you on this 2021 of gratitude. š
I want to continue cleaning and fine tuning my God given temple which seems to run side by side as i clean and tune up my Theology. šŖš¼ š
In 2021 I’m looking forwards to reading, being inspired and enjoying having such a kind and loving friend as you across the pond Nancy. God bless you. š š

Thanks so much Nancy!
How cool would it be to actually meet up at some point in the future?! Who knows what will happen and if we can travel?! I remember you and Ken visiting London last year so who knows…And Sarah & i have never been to the U.S mainland before…So hopefully some day soon! š

I agree with you as far as lists of New Year’s resolutions goes. Gratitude for me goes without saying, year in, year out. This year, coronavirus and vaccine permitting, I’m aiming to deciding what to do exactly in terms of volunteering, as I think it’s going to be super important in the future that we all contribute something extra.

Even though it’s not mentioned in my dear wife’s blog, you can be sure that she has a few New Year’s resolutions for me, her dear husband!
