So the new year is about to begin and with it, our New Year’s resolutions, most of which revolve around getting healthier. Most of you can identify with the “COVID” diet that has caused our waistlines to grow.
My COVID diet consists of:
- Cream for my coffee. After tasting this delicious combination, I can’t go back to fat free half and half.
- Potato chips. Now, let’s be honest here. Does anyone ever crave an apple instead of potato chips?
- Ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. I think I love this more than Dairy Queen blizzards!
I have put off my annual physical twice now since I don’t want to have my cholesterol checked. So far, I have used the excuse that I don’t want to go to the doctor’s office because of COVID, but that excuse is getting old. So, I am thinking I can just increase my exercise to counter the effects of this food.
Since I am fitness obsessed, er interested, I am always looking for ways to make my exercise more fun. Now many of you probably don’t think the words “fitness” and “fun” belong in the same sentence.
As a numbers person, I like to know my fitness statistics. Fitbit has helped me insure that I get my 10,000 daily steps. If, at the end of the day, I am short, I will march around the house, much to Mr. Ken’s amusement.
Well, the case for my beloved Fitbit disintegrated. Sadly, this Fitbit model is no longer made and the Fitbit website doesn’t sell just the cases. But Amazon to the rescue! I was very excited to see a number of choices for cases. I decided to go with polka dots because, why not? I smile every time I look at my Fitbit (which is alot.)
A special thank you to my good friend Steve, from “across the pond,” e.g. U.K. His fitness blog, https://fitblitzsr.wordpress.com/, inspired me to take another look at my Fitbit. This post is for you Steve! 🙂
What do you do to make fitness more fun?

Hi Nancy! Fantastic post and i love the case for your fitbit!
I also love looking at all of the stats on the fitbit app (which is fully accessible for me) and i use the stats like a computer game and try to improve or beat the bad guy, lol! Which in turn makes me healthier and fitter in the process…This is one of the ways i put fun into fitness! 💪🏼 😀
Hope you and Ken are staying safe and well?!

Hey Steve!
Always a pleasure to hear from you. I am glad to hear you are still enjoying your Fitbit. We have to take enjoyment where we can these days.
I hope you and Sarah are well.
Here’s to a better 2021!
Take care,
Nancy

Knowing what works best for you to keep motivated is so key.
I am the complete opposite … if I had to track stats, I would be so overwhelmed. Mostly I am a go with the flow sort of person although I do like a semblance of an approximate routine.

Hi there,
It’s funny what can motivate us…different things for different people. I am actually trying to be less of a planner and more of a “go with the flow” type person. We’ll see how that goes. 🙂
