Kayaking is my “happy place” these days. When we are out on the water, life seems almost normal. We were out the other day and even though it was a cloudy, cool day, it was still good. There was some sunshine in the distance so I was going to write a deep, serious blog post about “behind the clouds, there is always sunshine.” Well, that thought came to a quick end when it started raining during our paddle. All I could then think of was, “oh darn, will this rain ever end? It is cool and not that comfortable.” Well we were way out from where we put in, so it would be a while before we could get back. So, in an attempt to distract myself, I started thinking about Chinese food and how I miss having it. (On a side note, I have never spent so much time thinking about food as I have during this Pandemic. . .)
So, I thought about when Mr. Ken and I could drive out to our favorite Chinese food place and get take out. We will make a day of it.
Hah – what do you do to distract yourself?

hey Nancy! It’s been a while. How’s Mr. Ken? In normal days – I would place soccer. Now a days – I am just scrolling my Instagram feed.

Hi Walter!
What a nice surprise to “hear” from you. I hope all is well with you and your family. Mr. Ken is doing okay; he is missing his daily donut though. Things are pretty quiet here, trying to get outside when I can since our New England winters can be pretty cold and I will be “stuck” inside.

There IS sun behind the cloud, even if it comes after the rain!

Hi Laura,
You are correct…maybe I will save that sentiment for a future blog post. My ideas are rather scarce these days since I am not out doing many things besides kayaking and grocery shopping. 😉
