I had a my Harvard project team meeting in Cambridge. I love these days! I take the commuter train into Boston and then I walk to Harvard Square. I always say I get my city fix this way. I walk through Beacon Hill, Kendall Square, Central Square and Harvard Square.
We had a lot to talk about in this last meeting, so it ran longer than normal. My big decision was whether to walk back to Boston or take the subway back. Normally, my walk takes about 90 minutes. This would mean I would just miss the train and have to wait another hour for the next one.
Since I love my Boston walks, I decided to walk, or rather do a very fast walk, which was more like speed walking. This got me thinking about life. Sometimes, it is good to push ourselves. It is all too easy to get into a comfortable routine. I find that so easy now that I am semi-retired.
I made it in plenty of time for the early train. I felt those endorphins kick in since I was moving so quickly. I just love a challenge!
What about you? How do you challenge yourself?
