It really is the small things that make life worth living. As we enter the season of cooler days and longer nights, I find it important to find ways to keep my spirits up.
Here are some things that make me happy.
1. Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Coconut Coffee.
I treat myself to this whenever I do a pod walk. It has a bit more caffeine that my usual coffee and it is just what I need to get me going on those dark mornings. I am extra excited that Trader Joe’s still carries this, since one of their workers had told me this was a summer product.
2. A good morning peach.
I love having a cut up peach in my oat bran. It’s sweetness can (sort of) help me use less sugar. I will be sad when peach season ends in a few weeks.
3. Little acorns.
Okay so it’s not just these little acorns that make me happy. It is the fact that our beloved chipmunks LOVE acorns. We don’t have any oak trees in our yard, so every time I am out on my walks, I gather several for them. We are enjoying every moment with our chipmunks since they will be going in for their “big sleep” in a few weeks.
4. A mid-morning pick me up.
Yes, this cup is cute. But what is inside it is even better. My local Trader Joe’s offers free samples and during the cooler weather, this means free coffee. This little cup is just enough to re-charge me.
So what about you; what makes you happy?
Photographs are thanks to Mr. Ken, photographer extraordinaire. He wanted me to include a picture of a donut in this post, since donuts make him very happy. Alas, donuts don’t do it for me. 🙂
