Teddy Bear Love

The news is so depressing these days – wars, cyclospora, etc., etc. We all need things that brings a smile to our faces. I hope this post will do just that.

So, I love teddy bears. This love affair started long before we welcomed all of our British guys into our lives. For my birthday, my parents used to give me a teddy bear. It became a standing joke with us. One year, they gave me a birthday bear from Vermont Teddy Bear Company. His name is Biscuit.

For years, Biscuit has been sitting quietly on one of our spare beds. Mr. Ken went to pick him up the other day and his leg fell off! Oh dear. Luckily Mr. Ken did some research and found out the Vermont Teddy Bear Company has a lifetime guarantee on their bears. So off went Biscuit to Vermont to be treated at the Teddy Bear Hospital. Along with sending the bear, one had to fill out a medical history, including bear’s name.

Biscuit came back in one piece. He was treated by Dr. Pam. He had a wrist bracelet, just like humans get in the hospital. He even came with full medical report and “PAWscription” to stay healthy.

To add to the cuteness, the box he came back in even had an air hole so he could breathe.

Since I am in the throes of physical torture, er physical therapy, for my knee. We thought the folks at my physical therapy place would enjoy seeing the rehabbed Biscuit and his physical therapy “PAWscription.”

Here is my wonderful therapist, Christy, doing an evaluation on Biscuit. She even measured his range of motion. She also put him through his paces with some excercises. Although Christy said Biscuit is a better patient than I am since he doesn’t complain.

Needless to say, Biscuit was a big hit with everyone at the therapy place. Although, our beloved Toby now wants to get in on the action and do physical therapy too. 🙂
