I live in New England and it gets COLD in the winter. I have to force myself to go out walking in the cold. But once I’m done, I feel great and energized.
Back in the “good old days,” if I wanted to go out for a walk/run all I had to do was pull on some running tights, a turtleneck and a jacket and I was good to go. Note: I wish I looked like this pretty and fit woman, but not even in my heyday. 🙂
These days it’s a process. Hah, sometimes I think it would be easier to just sit inside and watch BritBox. However, I prevail because I feel so energized after my walk.
Check to make sure streets are completely clear since I don’t want to fall and break something. If there is even a molecule of ice on the road, I don’t go out.
Put analgesic gel on knees and then put on knee braces. One needs an engineering degree to put on these braces. If I don’t use braces, my knees start to give out after 15 minutes.
I feel the cold so much more as I’ve gotten older. So, two pairs of sweatpants it is.
Yep, and not one, but two fleece jackets.
And to top it all off, a down coat, hat and scarf. I feel like one of those roly poly figures. I think if I did fall, I would just roll around with all that padding.
Do you exercise outside in the winter? If so, how do you prepare?

Hi friend,
Thanks for your comment. I started getting annoyed at all I had to do to get ready for my walk and then I saw the humor in it. 🙂

I hear you on taking more than a minute to get dressed to leave home in the winter. But so worth it, right?
