The joy of browsing in a bookstore

I was out doing errands the other day. It was hot and I was tired. On the spur of the moment, I decided to go into a local bookstore. Ah, bliss!

I just love the smell of new books. I was like a kid in a candy store, not knowing where to look first. Not only did the store have books, but it also had cute little stationery things. I spent a most relaxing hour just wandering the aisles and day dreaming about the books. In the Travel section, I took an imaginary vacation to Greece. In the Mystery section, I solved a mystery. And yes, in the Cooking section, I imagined cooking a fabulous meal. (Now this is quite a stretch since I can barely boil water, but that is the fun of imagination.)

Sure, I buy books and whatnot on Amazon, but when I just want to lose myself, I go to a real bookstore. I hope and pray that they won’t all disappear, thanks to Amazon.
