Time for a new hobby

Sometimes I think this COVID thing will last forever. It certainly seems that way. Here is a typical day for me:

  • Went for a walk.
  • Ate a donut (in place of my usual whole wheat toast and organic peanut butter). Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
  • Called to thank my friend Lisa, who had dropped off the donut.
  • Did some “virtual” tours of Asheville, North Carolina, trying to pretend I was anywhere but sitting in my house.
  • Found a crystal company that was located near Asheville. And yay they were having a sale. Never one to pass up a bargain, I put in two orders.
  • Feeling guilty about my indulgences, I decided to then focus on my health. I have been having shoulder pain and did go to the doctor. She said to rest it and do light exercises. Plan B is a cortisone shot. Final plan would be shoulder surgery. So, I decided to Google, “arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Huh, big mistake. While the operation is pretty straightforward, the recovery is quite painful. Mmm, I would rather have my arm immobilized in a sling for 6 months for it to rest, rather than have the surgery. Ouch.

So what new hobbies have you taken up?
