Sometimes I think this COVID thing will last forever. It certainly seems that way. Here is a typical day for me:
- Went for a walk.
- Ate a donut (in place of my usual whole wheat toast and organic peanut butter). Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
- Called to thank my friend Lisa, who had dropped off the donut.
- Did some “virtual” tours of Asheville, North Carolina, trying to pretend I was anywhere but sitting in my house.
- Found a crystal company that was located near Asheville. And yay they were having a sale. Never one to pass up a bargain, I put in two orders.
- Feeling guilty about my indulgences, I decided to then focus on my health. I have been having shoulder pain and did go to the doctor. She said to rest it and do light exercises. Plan B is a cortisone shot. Final plan would be shoulder surgery. So, I decided to Google, “arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Huh, big mistake. While the operation is pretty straightforward, the recovery is quite painful. Mmm, I would rather have my arm immobilized in a sling for 6 months for it to rest, rather than have the surgery. Ouch.
So what new hobbies have you taken up?

My new hobby is just doubling down on an old hobby…I am reading a lot more books. I’m very glad the library lets me reserve online and go pick them up. I am on book #65 for the year! I think I’m going to set a record. But I don’t have evening events / commitments anymore, so there’s lots more time to read.

Hi Laura – you already set a record for reading books before this whole COVID thing! I’ve been spending my evenings watching Netflix for escape.

i hear you, Nancy – i have almost forgotten what pre-pandemic life was like.
We keep pretty tight social isolation measures and foresee continuing to do so for a long while yet.
Hope your shoulder recovers sufficiently without the surgery …
What exciting plans do you have for your crystals?

Hi – I am really enjoying my crystals. It’s fun to learn about the different ones and what energies they posess. I am mostly using my crystals for relaxation.
