So finally this week, we were able to shed our winter coats and wear spring clothes. It sure took long enough. Now I am a die-hard New Englander, but even this cold weather threw me. Here is just one sign of spring – pansies. Did you know that the official flower of my hometown is a pansy? Who knew.
Pansies are tailor-made for New England because they are hardy and frost resistant; you can plant them in April. They can even survive an April snowstorm. They come in all sorts of pretty colors, from white to various shades of purple.
I hope all of you are enjoying spring!

Happy spring to you, Nancy — and what a terrific flower with which to celebrate. I love pansies, each one has its own face.
