Most of you have heard of the adage, “we all get 15 minutes of fame.” Well this happened to Mr. Ken last week. He was quoted in an article about a castle in Summit New Jersey.
Can you imagine a real live castle in suburban New Jersey? It was called Vanderpoel Castle and Mr. Ken was very familiar with it because he was friends with the little boy who lived there.
Sadly, the castle was torn down many years ago to make room for an access road.

My 15 minutes of fame, sad to say, was a 6:30 am TV interview in the dead of winter at the local train station, a reporter surprised me and asked me my views on the latest fare hikes.

Vanderpoel Castle sure was a fun place to play when I was in grade school! I’m glad I was able to see the inside of this lovely, fascinating place!
