I am interrupting my blog posts about my favorite city, Northampton MA, to celebrate summer. July 4th is almost upon is and it is the quintessential summer holiday.
Flowers and sunshine are abundant. Here are some of our pretty backyard flowers. Note the interesting orbs on either side; we bought these at our favorite pottery place in Vermont. If you look closely, you will see a yellow orb amongst the flowers. This orb will be moved to the garden since the flowers fill out the container.
Of course our “guys,” Sir Oliver, Toby and Sir Angus get in on the action too. They have their own little flower garden. π
What do you do to celebrate summer?

It’s nice to look outside our family room window and see these nice flowers and orbs, which remind me of our fun times in Vermont!

Hey Mr. Ken,
I love looking at the colorful orbs. I smile to myself everytime I look at them, remembering that each time we visit the pottery shop we say, “we’re just looking and we won’t buy anymore pottery.” Hah, and then we come home with another orb or coffee mug. π

Recently– best witnessed fireworks; tomorrow– out-of-towner relatives and local friends doing burgers and pizzas, swimming in the condo pool and relaxing in the jacuzzi; later–SD ComicCon; and in between–checking out the local parks and lagoons, Farmers’ Market, and whatever’s happening in our town.
