From Sedona, Arizona to South Hadley, Massachusetts. Mr. Ken and I sure do get around. 🙂
March in New England can be pretty dreary. It is cold; it can snow; it can rain. This March was no exception. I was so happy to get an invitation to my alma mater, Mount Holyoke College, for a talk about the history of their greenhouse, Talcott Greenhouse. I was especially interested since I was a Botany Major in College.
We decided to make a mini-vacation out of this and stayed for a few days. We stayed at the Willits-Hallowell Center, the on-campus conference center right on the Mount Holyoke campus.
Our beloved Toby, hearing that we were going to college, decided he wanted a “new” look, one that made him look smart. What do you think?
Here are the guys, chilling in our room and looking out the window at Willits-Hallowell.
Here is another view from our window. As you can see, there is still snow on the ground.
The rooms were nice, nothing fancy, but perfect for our needs. They have kind of a Shaker vibe.
The lobby was very welcoming. With all the windows, it was filled with light, even on a gloomy grey day.
There was a cute breakfast nook, where a continental breakfast was served. The best part of this nook was the view of the Connecticut River.
Not only was the view nice, but the fresh fruit served was yummy.

Stay tuned next week for pictures of the beautiful flowers in the Talcott Greenhouse!
