Sedona, Arizona – Quirky town

Posted on February 19, 2025

Why is Sedona known as a very spiritual place? The reason Sedona is so special is the natural Vortices (Vortex) that occur all throughout the entire area. They have a magnetic energy that causes magic to occur there. True to its name, there are lots of crystal and New Age stores in Sedona. Of course, I made Mr. Ken go into each and every one.

Here is my favorite one. I just love the purple colors. πŸ™‚

It was fun walking around uptown Sedona. The pink javelinas were my favorite. Javelinas are native to the American Southwest and are often confused with wild pigs.

We had a fabulous lunch at a Mexican restaurant, El Rincon, in Tlaquepaque Village. Tlaquepaque Village was the brainchild of Abe Miller, a successful Nevada businessman. Abe was a traveler and he loved Mexico. His dream was to build an arts village reflecting the mood and charm of Mexico. Right outside of Sedona proper was the perfect place.

Tlaquepaque is a word from the Nahuatl Native Indian language, the ancient language of the Aztecs meaning the β€œbest of everything.”

Here is the inviting entrance with a pretty sculpture garden.
