Victorian Gothic houses in Northampton

I don’t even know if “Victorian Gothic” is even a style, but it aptly describes a lot of the houses in Northampton. Everywhere I walked, I saw such interesting old houses, no two alike. No cookie cutter suburban sprawl here!

Several houses looked like haunted houses to me.

I think the style of the blue house is called gingerbread. Note the pattern of the shingles.

I love the detail on this house.

I call this house the “eyebrow house.”

There aren’t just Victorians in Northampton. Here is a quintessential colonial house.

And, last but not least, an example of early colonial style.

Not only were these houses interesting, but they all had lush gardens surrounding them. I think it would be “heaven” to come home to any of these houses.
