Random New Jersey scenes

I just love downtown Summit. Here is a picture that doesn’t do it justice.

There were a lot of interesting bistros in the downtown area too. Bistros seem to be more prevalent here than in Massachusetts. Piattino is where we met some of Ken’s college friends for lunch.

Mr. Ken introduced me to videos way back when. This was over 30 years ago, way before DVDs or streaming. There was a cute little video store close by where we would go and pick out a video to watch on Saturday night. This was also where I was introduced to exercise videos, which have become, shall I say, an obsession? I’m not really big on streaming these days, since my workout area isn’t really conducive to that, but I do have lots (and I mean lots) of exercise DVDs. But it all started here.

Here is my very first exercise video, by The Firm, that was located in Charleston, South Carolina.

And only in New Jersey, would a walking trail through the woods be paved. This is quite different from the trails we hike/walk in Vermont!

This trip, while short, was quite nostalgic. It was especially so for Mr. Ken since he grew up in Summit. Here is a picture of his childhood home.

It was so much fun to spend a few days away and reminiscing about old times. Have you done that lately?
