The Chester Fair

Another quintessential Vermont experience is a country fair. We are lucky that our Vermont visit is always around the time of the Chester Fair.

This year, a beautiful golden retriever was available for photo opportunities. Mr. Ken couldn’t resist. I just love the happy face on the dog!

There was a lively demonstration of how border collies herd sheep. The collie is the black and white creature in the middle. Here, he trying to get the one stray sheep back with the rest of the herd.

In addition to animals, the Chester Fair had many vendors offering their creations. The most interesting one was these cute bears. They were carved with a chain saw! I was fascinated by these since I couldn’t imagine carving things, much less with a chain saw. Hah, if I attempted that, all you would see is a bunch of wood shavings on the ground and I would be in the Emergency Room, having chained sawed my leg. πŸ™‚

And of course, there was plenty of yummy food at the fair. Here is our very own Mr. Ken enjoying a freshly made donut. He scarfed that donut pretty quickly, and no surprise he didn’t offer me a bite.

Here I am, enjoying my annual hot dog.
