We still have lots of snow on the ground, in spite of temps in the 50’s. But there is hope. Here is a picture of one of our ‘pet’ chipmunks, who has awakened from his big winter sleep. He dug a hole in the snow to come out and gather food.
In case you are wondering, chipmunks love all kinds of nuts. They especially love dried cranberries too.
We call this one Peanut because he loves peanuts!
Photograph of Peanut the Chipmunk is thanks to Mr. Ken, photographer extraordinaire.

Hey Professor,
Yes, it is a good shot. I’m glad Mr. Ken took the picture instead of me, because all you’d see would be snow and no chipmunk. š

Hi,
Yes, it will be spring soon, in spite of all the snow still about. I will say hi to Peanut for you. He comes out first thing in the morning and is waiting for his food when we come downstairs.

Hi Peter,
Thanks, we thought so too. I just love chipmunks – they are so cute! So far we haven’t had any problems with them being destructive.

Hi my friend š
What a sweet little fellow……and the chipmunk is too š
You have just given me an idea for a joke:
Our local monastery has just opened an English Fish & Chip shop run by a deep fat Friar and a chipmonk š
I see on the local TV that you are going to get another blast from the Polar Vortex. I hope your little friend will be okay Nancy.
Hugs. Ralph xox š

Hi Dear Friend Ralph,
Thanks for giving me my laugh for the day. I needed it since we are in the midst of another Polar Vortex. I hope to never hear those words again – lol.
It was so cold this am that little Peanut didn’t even come out of hiding to get his food.
Have a great weekend.

Dear friend Ralph,
With my new ballet/barre rotation, M&Ms are not on the diet plan. Mmmm, maybe I need to rethink my exercise – lol.

Hi Ken,
Yes, he sure does! I think he likes you better than me since you feed him more of the ‘good’ stuff. Plus, you don’t talk to him about chipmunk boot camp!
