So last week was my rant about aggressive real estate agents. This week is about an agent who does things right. I want to give a shout out to Michael McQuillan, a local real estate agent with Coldwell Banker. In full disclosure, I grew up with Mike and am friends with him on Facebook.

I just loved the marketing postcard he recently sent to me, advertising his services. The kicker was the personal note:

  • “Hi Nancy, Love your blog! LOL! Mike”

Normally I would throw away these postcards, but not this one.

So for all you real estate agents (and others who want to market your services), take heed and take a lesson from Mike. Personalize your messages. Using a compliment doesn’t hurt either.
