We can’t control our lives. We can’t control what happens to us. What we CAN control is how we react to events. I am in the process of dealing with my health insurance company, my doctor’s office and the hospital. All I am trying to do is schedule a simple test. What should be a simple, straightforward request has turned into a two week ordeal with multiple phone calls. Every time I speak with someone on the phone, I get different information. Yes, it is frustrating and yes I am very stressed about this, but I am doing all that I can do deal with the situation. It is out of my hands.
So, what do I do? I can spend my days being frustrated and angry and looking for someone to blame. Instead, I try to live my life with gratitude. I am ever so grateful that I have health insurance. I am ever so grateful that I have a doctor that is concerned for my health and I am grateful that the hospital is following up with me.
I also am trying to calm my mind by looking outside at the pretty flowers. We have this lovely flowering tree in our front yard, a red bud tree. It is in full bloom right now. It is the first thing that I see in the morning when I wake up.
I am also grateful for the early daylight, the pretty flowers, the ability to get up and get out of bed.
What are you grateful for?

Hello dear Nancy,
Heck, how frustrating for you. I do hope that it gets sorted out soon for you. If not I’ll ask Donald Trump to really mess it up… umm … sort it out for you. π β€

Nancy:
I’m sorry you’re experiencing the frustrations of our flawed healthcare system. I admire your commitment to remain positive nonetheless.
I’m grateful for countless things, especially faith, family, and friendships.
Blessings,
Steve
