Well, not really, since I can’t whistle. Plus, no matter how hard I try to hide it, I have a Boston accent. Or should I say “bahstan akcent.” π
Mr. Ken was recently in South Carolina, visiting with his mother and brother. The weather down there was gorgeous and the flowers were in full bloom. Contrast this with our “wonderful” New England weather – an April Fool’s Day Nor’easter!
Here are some pictures from the fair city of Charleston. Enjoy!
The entrance to the retirement community where my mother-in-law lives. Wouldn’t this be nice to come home to every day?
Some flowers right outside my mother-in-law’s unit. What a pretty view!
More colorful flowers!
Mr. Ken’s birthday cake.
Mr. Ken celebrated his birthday while in Charleston. I am surprised the cake lasted long enough for a picture to be taken. I also wonder if Mr. Ken actually shared his cake with the rest of his family. Mr. Ken loves cake almost as much as he loves donuts!
What are some of your favorite views?

My favorite views? Just about anywhere out away from people, and where the view becomes larger than you can take in with just one look.

Ocean waves crashing onto the shore! Love ’em, sigh… Here we have to make do with the usually bathtub- flat Mediterranean

Hi Bea,
At least the Mediterranean is warm though. The waters here in New England are cold year round – even in the middle of summer!

Of course I shared the cake! But I did get to take the remaining cake back to my mom’s where I enjoyed another piece. I had my eye on the very last piece but some last minute changes in my flight plans caused me to leave before lunch thus preventing me from eating the last piece. My mom did inform me that she really enjoyed the cake after her lunch. π

Dear friend Ralph,
Oh no – don’t give the poor man ideas! I can just see the cake crumbs shooting out of his mouth now. π

I like the view of the cake. It must be in our gene pool. I love donuts just as much. I actually have the shape of a donut. Ken might just get very lucky and have another cake on his actual birthday.

Hi Kathi,
It must be a “loderick” thing then – this love of donuts. π
