What is your perfect day?

what is your perfect day

Let me make you think a bit more – what is your perfect work day? We all could easily come up with our perfect vacation. I’m blessed that I love my life and my work, so I can also come up with my perfect work day. As a matter of fact, this day occurred just last week.

Here’s my perfect work day:

3:30 am – Wake up without an alarm. Leap out of bed to fix a healthy breakfast of egg whites and oatmeal. Get in a short, but intense workout. Today it was an Insanity(R) workout.

6:00 am – Take commuter train into Boston, and  pass the time reading a new thriller that I picked up at the library.

7:00 – 7:30 am – Spend some quiet time in reflection and prayer. It can be a challenge to find a place to do this in the city, but it can be done.

8:00 – 8:30 am – Walk to Cambridge to attend a marketing workshop titled, “Jumpstart your Marketing.” I love the walk over the Longfellow Bridge (aka the ‘salt and pepper shaker’ bridge). I love being in Cambridge. Here’s my favorite view of Boston from Cambridge:

8:30 am – 10:00 am – Meet some interesting new people and learn a lot about online marketing.

10:00 – 11:00 am – Walk to Back Bay and do some window shoppping.

12:00 noon – Take the train home.

3:00 – 5:00 pm – Meet with my consulting client and plan the next two weeks’ work.

7:00 – 8:00 pm – Continue watching episodes of “Foyle’s War,” a detective series set in World War II England.

Why I loved this day and what made it perfect:

1. I nourished my body, soul and mind.

2. I learned some new marketing tips. I love learning new things!

3. I faced some challenges and won. I am very much of an introvert and find it very hard to go to meetings where I don’t know a soul. Not only did I learn things, but I had fun at the workshop.

4. It was a fun and productive day.

The ONLY thing I would change about this day is to have more projects.
